As a member of the Group Project Management Office team in Barcelona you will work together with the related Portfolio lead to review, assess and prioritize new project proposals, create project portfolio insights and provide corresponding analysis to senior management.

  • Lead the strategic vision, execution, maintenance, and quality assurance for projects and programs within the portfolio together with the respective Portfolio Lead
  • Challenge and Review project business cases resp. project proposals, identifying the business impact, the probability of satisfying business needs, the anticipated business benefits, and the risks and consequences of failure
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive milestone plan for the portfolio, based on the current plans of each constituent project or program in collaboration with local organisations
  • Monitor overall progress of the respective portfolio, with particular focus on budgets, key milestones, resources, dependencies and benefits
  • Report progress of the portfolio to senior management with specific emphasis on business objectives delivery, efficient resource deployment, effective risk and issue management, portfolio volatility with respect to scope and quality changes, and process improvements
  • Contribute extensively to the annual planning and budgetary process for the portfolio
  • Contribute to Stage-Gates reviews to assess delivery status of key programs and propose key mitigation actions
  • Work with key business stakeholders to oversee and prioritize business work requests and resolve business partners' concerns
  • Identify improvement opportunities and recommend strategic steps to capitalize on opportunities that will have a significant effect on profit and/or operational effectiveness for the whole organization

Perfil buscado (h/m)

  • 7+ years of experience in the financial services industry (preferably insurance industry) and ideally program management in a global environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning, communication, and presentation skills
  • Able to understand, explain, and present complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels in a persuasive and convincing manner
  • Able to analyze and explain the risks involved in using, or not using, solutions to business or organizational problems
  • Hands-on experience in project/portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization, and budgeting
  • Understands the organization's policy framework, management structures, and reporting procedures for all aspects of project and program management
  • Has achieved proficiency in the roles of project manager, senior project manager, and program manager (preferred but not required)
  • Strong team player and self-starter. Highly self-driven personality and ability to think "out of the box" and raise the bar.
  • Adept at working with and developing trusted advisor status with senior stakeholders
  • Understands how to prioritize and deliver on multiple tasks.
  • Analytical approach and practical problem solving and solution development skills
